This 10-Day safari takes in some of the best sites in Tanzania.  Included are experiences in all four of Tanzania’s National Parks in the northern area of the country.  It includes Lake Manyara, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire.  In addition to the big five, we’ll see a wide variety of wildlife, including numerous birds.  First-class accommodations and all meals are included.

Sample Group Itinerary 

Day 1 - Depart USA
We depart today on an overnight flight to Amsterdam.

Day 2  -  Arrive Arusha
Arrival this morning in Amsterdam, where we connect with a non-stop flight bound for Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania.  Upon arrival in Tanzania this evening, we are met at the airport and proceed to Arusha for overnight.  Arusha Hotel.

 
Day 3  -  Arusha -  Lake Manyara
This morning we depart for Lake Manyara.   Lunch at the Hotel.  An afternoon game drive is planned with the possibility of sighting the famous tree-climbing lions.  Here we can see a variety of habitats and diverse animals and birds.   We witness the large flock of flamingos descending on Lake Manyara.  Manyara Serena Lodge.  (B,L,D)
 
Day 4  -  Lake Manyara  -  Serengeti
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti.  On arrival we have lunch at our lodge.  An afternoon game drive is planned in Serengeti National Park.  Serengeti Serena Lodge.  (B,L,D)

Day 5  -  Serengeti
A full day game drive in Serengeti is scheduled, including a picnic lunch.  Here we can find the largest concentration of plain animals -- 4 million, as well as 500 species of birds.  With luck, we’ll see predators chasing their prey and enjoying their kill, all while enjoying the spectacular scenery.  Serengeti Serena Lodge.  (B,L,D)

Day 6  -  Serengeti  -  Ngorongoro Crater
We’ll have breakfast, followed by a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park.  After lunch, we depart for Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge, the site of many archaeological findings, and where traces of pre-historic man dating back to 3.5 million years ago have been discovered.  Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.  (B,L,D)

Day 7  -  Ngorongoro Crater
A full day tour of Ngorongoro is planned.  Here we can see a spectacular concentration of wildlife, including the “big five.”  We drive through the dense forest and near the soda lake, while viewing a great variety of bird life.   We return, ascending to the lodge from the 2000 ft. deep crater.  A picnic lunch will be served today.  Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.  (B,L,D)

Day 8  -  Ngorongoro Crater  -  Tarangire
After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire.  On arrival we have lunch at a Tarangire Lodge, and then experience an afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park.  During the dry season, Tarangire is spectacular for its concentration of wildlife.  Many of the migratory species come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River, from which the park derives its name.  Large herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland, and oryx gather until the beginning of the rainy season, when they migrate to other areas for grazing.  Tarangire Safari Lodge.  (B,L,D)

Day 9  -  Tarangire  -  Arusha  -  Depart Tanzania
After an early breakfast, we have one final, short game drive in Tarangire National Park.  Then we proceed to Arusha for lunch.  We transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport this evening, and depart for Amsterdam  (B,L)

Day 10  -  Arrive USA
Arrival in Amsterdam this morning, and connect with our flight back to the USA.  Arrival back home the same day.
