You will certainly enjoy this deluxe safari which combines Kruger National Park with the Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana.  It allows three nights at each of the two deluxe, tented camps.  Wildlife and birds are plentiful in these areas; you should see the "Big Five" (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino & Buffalo), as well as numerous other game species and birds.

Sample Group Itinerary 

 
Day 1  -  Depart USA
Today we depart the USA bound for South Africa.

Day 2  -  Arrive Johannesburg
Arrival this evening in Johannesburg, South Africa.  On arrival, we are met and transferred to our hotel near the airport for overnight.  Hotel Intercontinental Johannesburg.

Day 3  -  Johannesburg  -  Mashatu Tented Camp, Botswana
After breakfast, we depart by private coach to the Pont Drift Border Crossing between South Africa and Botswana.  After clearing Botswana customs and immigration formalities, we proceed to the Mashatu Tented Camp, where we will spend the next three nights.  The Camp is nestled in a remote northern area of the Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana.  Wildlife is abundant in the area, including the Elephant, Cheetah, Lion, Leopard, Hyena, Zebra, Giraffe, Eland, Wildebeest, Antelope, Springhare, Bat Eared Fox, Genet Cat, Civet Cat, Mongoose, and Honey Badger.  Birds are prolific in the Reserve, with over 350 species having been recorded.  Mashatu Tented Camp.  (BLD)

Days 4 & 5  -  Mashatu Tented Camp
A number of activities will be available each day, including game drives in open, 4-wheel drive safari vehicles in the 75,000 acre Mashatu Game Reserve.  Also, a morning interactive walking safari, morning or evening mountain bike rides, a morning ivory drive, or an evening predator drive with one of the resident scientists in Mashatu, horseback riding, and archaeological walks, are among many of the optional activities which may be available for an additional cost.  Mashatu Tented Camp.  (BLD Daily)

Day 6  -  Mashatu Tented Camp  -  Pafuri Camp
Today we return to the Pont Drift crossing, and return to South Africa.  We drive along the top of South Africa to reach the Pafuri Camp, located in the northern sector Kruger National Park, at the point where South Africa, Zimbabwe & Mozambique meet.  The Camp is located in Pafuri, which is the wildest and most remote part of the Park, which offers wonderful and varied vegetation, great wildlife viewing, the best birding in all of Kruger Park.  This area is home to all of the animal species found in Kruger, including the big five (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhino and Buffalo), and special rare birds like the Pel’s Fishing Owl.  Pafuri Camp.  (BLD)

Day 7 & 8  -  Pafuri Camp
Morning and afternoon activities are available each day, including game and nature drives in open 4x4 vehicles; night drives; birding walks and foot safaris, all accompanied by an armed guide.  Alternatively, some guests enjoy just relaxing on their veranda watching the wildlife and bird life wandering through the camp.  Pafuri Camp.  (BLD Daily)

Day 9 -  Pafuri Camp  -  Depart South Africa.
After breakfast, we transfer by light aircraft from the nearby air strip to Lanseria Airport.  From there we proceed by land to the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to meet our scheduled departure flight.  (B)

Day 10  -  Arrive USA
Arrival back in the USA today.
