Christians from around the world come to the Holy Land each year to experience the most popular sites from the life of Christ.  This 7-Night program visits Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jerusalem, and other major points of interest from His life.  Key landmarks include the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, the Mount of Olives, the Mount of Beatitudes, and important places in Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and many others.  This tour will enrich your mind and your life by allowing you to experience the Holy Places you have come to know through your Bible studies.  The Biblical references we will provide you allow you to prepare for this journey that will change your life forever!


Day-by-Day Itinerary 

Day 1  -  Saturday.  Depart USA
Depart the USA via overnight flight destined for Tel Aviv.

Day 2  -  Sunday.  Arrive Tel Aviv
Afternoon arrival at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport.  After clearing Israeli Customs and Immigration formalities, you will be met and tranferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv.  Balance of the day at leisure to explore Tel Aviv.  Dinner and overnight in Tel Aviv.  (D) 

Day 3  -  Monday.  Tel Aviv - Caesarea - Megiddo - Haifa - Acre - Sea of Galilee
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel.  You'll drive north to the archaeological ruins of Caesarea (Acts 9:30, Acts 10:24-48), built by Herod the Great in honor of Caesar Augustus, and capital of Judea under the Romans.  Visit the excavations, Roman theatre and aqueduct.  From there you go on to visit Megiddo (1 Kings 4:28, 9:15, 2 Kings 23:29-30, Revelation 16:16), where the Book of Revelation mentions a great battle at a place called "Armageddon."  It is an ancient city, inhabited continuously for more than five millennia (6000-500 B.C.).  Visit the archaeological excavations at Megiddo, including the well-preserved water supply system.  Then proceed to the port city of Haifa, on the Mediterranean Sea, and enjoy a panoramic view of Haifa Bay and Baha'i Gardens.  Then continue to Acre, capital of the Crusaders for over a century.  Visit the ancient city and harbor, before continuing eastward across the plains of Galilee to the Kibbutz Hiotel Levi for dinner.  Overnight in a kibbutz guesthouse.  (B,D)

Day 4  -  Tuesday.  Sea of Galilee - Capernaum - Tabgha - Mount of the Beatitudes - Golan Heights - Sea of GalileeSea of Galilee from Tiberias
After a short tour of the kibbutz grounds, board a boat for a trip across the Sea of Galilee to reach Capernaum (Matt. 4:13, 13:54, 17:24, Luke 7, Mark 1:2, John 4:46-54), the center of Jesus' ministry.  Tabgha (Matt. 13, Mark 33-45, John 21), just north of Tiberias, is the site of Christ’s miracle of feeding the 5,000.  At the Church of Multiplication, the mosaic floor depicts a basket with loaves and two fish.  You drive on to the Mount of Beatitudes (Matt. 5-8), overlooking the Sea, where Jesus preached the “Sermon on the Mount,” and it  it is believed that Jesus picked his 12 apostles.  Drive to Caeesare Spring & Waterfall, where it  it is believed that Jesus was recognized as the Messiah by His Disciples.  Then tour the Golan Heights to view the panoramic view of the peaks of Mt. Hermon and the rugged plateau of the Golan Heights, and beneath it the green pastoral Hula valley.  Return to Kibbutz Lavi for dinner.  Overnight in a kibbutz guesthouse.  (B,D)

Mount of the BeatitudesDay 5  -  Wednesday.  Sea of Galilee - Jordan River - Jerusalem
This morning you travel to Cana (John 2:1-11), to visit the Wedding Church, where Jesus performed his first miracle - turning water into wine.  Then you proceed to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood, and the Church of Annunciation, built on the site where archaeologists believe the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary.  You’ll also see Mary’s Well and Joseph’s Church.  Next on our program is the Jordan River, and the Baptismal site, Yardenit.  Continue through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean, one of the Decapolis cities (Mark 5:20, 7:31), with its recently excavated amphitheater.  This is the city where Saul and his son Jonathan were nailed to the walls (1 Samuel 31:10).  Visit the excavations of this beautifully preserved Roman City, which was destroyed in an earthquake.  Continue south along the banks of the River Jordan, and passing Jericho, we continue westward to the Golden City of Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.   (B,D)

Day 6  -  Thursday.  Jerusalem (Old City)
Today we visit the Old City of Jerusalem.  We begin with a panoramic view from the Mount of Olives, overlooking the walls of the Old City and the ancient Jewish cemetery.  Visit the Church of All Nations.  Proceed to Mount Zion to see the tomb of King David and the nearby Room of the Last Supper(Mark 14:13, Luke 22:10-38, Matt. 26:17-29, Acts 1:13, and Acts 2 the Pentecost).  Enter the Old City to begin exploring the wonders of Jerusalem.  Walk through the Cardo, the main street of Jerusalem 2000 years ago.  View the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.  Walk along the Via Dolorosa, where Jesus carried His Cross.  Continue to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Matt. 27:33-57, 28:10).  Then walk through the colorful Arab Bazaar and test your negotiating skills!  Visit the Garden Tomb.  Dinner and overnight.  (B,D)

Day 7  -  Friday.  Jerusalem (New City) & Bethlehem 
Today’s tour includes Yad Vashem, the official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust established in 1953, located on the foot of Mt. Herzl.  Enjoy Ein Karem - a picturesque village on the southwestern outskirts of Jerusalem.  This small village has great significance in Christian traditions, since this is where, according to tradition, John the Baptist was born.  Visit the Israel Museum with a detailed model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple, and the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls.  Drive by the Knesset (House of Parliament) and the campus of Hebrew University.  If the situation permits, you'll visit Bethlehem - to see Rachel’s Tomb and the Church of the Nativity.  Back to your hotel for overnight.  (B,D)

Day 8  -  Saturday.  Jerusalem (Dead Sea & Masada) 
Through remarkable scenery of the Dead Sea you'll continue to Masada, which is situated right on an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert.  The site has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001.  Ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans.  Visit the excavations,  and harborKing Herod’s palace, the synagogue, bathhouse, and much more.  Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea.  En route to the Dead Sea, you’ll see the site of the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.  Nearly 1,300 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on the earth’s surface!  Bring your swimsuit, as if weather permits - it’s possible to “float” on the salty, mineral rich, water.  Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.  (B,D)

Day 9  -  Sunday.  Tel Aviv to U.S.
Transfer back to Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport for departure.  Arrival back at your hometown airport late this evening.  (B)
